    The Ivy League named Dan Colleran and Sarah Finney assistant directors for communications and championships. Colleran spent the last two years in the Notre Dame athletics media relations office and Finney was an assistant media relations director at Cal State Bakersfield.

    Other transactions

    Directors of athletics – Jim Johnson, commissioner of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association, was named the director of intercollegiate athletics at Pittsburg State.

    Assistant directors of athletics – Green Mountain hired Daryle Tucker as the assistant director of athletics. Tucker was previously women's basketball head coach and assistant director of sports information at NAIA member Southeastern.

    Coaches

    Baseball – John Torres was named head coach at Polytechnic Institute of NYU. Torres spent the last two seasons at St. Joseph's (Brooklyn), where he was the first coach in the newly formed program's history.

    Baseball assistants – Former Florida Southern student-athlete Stephen Piercefield is re-joining the program as an assistant coach. Piercefield was a Moccasin student-athlete from 2004 to 2006 and served as a student assistant in 2007 and as a volunteer assistant in 2008. He spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach at Texas-Pan American.

    Men's basketball – SUNY Maritime appointed director of athletics Dick Hack head coach of the men's basketball program. Hack will continue to lead the Privateers athletics department.

    Men's and women's cross country and track and field – Greg Rhines was named head coach of the men's and women's cross country programs at Cal State Monterey Bay. Rhines previously coached at the community college level.

    Men's and women's ice hockey – Bethel promoted Brian Carlson to head coach of the women's ice hockey  program after serving as the head assistant coach with the team the past four seasons.

    Men's and women's soccer – Ryan Servaty was hired as interim head coach for the men's and women's soccer programs at Bethel. Servaty coached at the high school level last season, and was as an assistant coach at Augsburg … Plymouth State named Cindy Bennett to the women's soccer program. Bennett was most recently an assistant coach with the women's soccer program at Colby-Sawyer … Former Springfield student-athlete and assistant Nicole Hanewich was appointed head coach of the women's program at Massachusetts-Dartmouth. Hanewich was a graduate assistant women's soccer coach at Springfield last season.

    Men's and women's soccer assistants – David Madsen was named assistant coach of the women's soccer program at Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Madsen was head coach of the men's and women's soccer programs at Lakeland the past four seasons.

    Softball – South Carolina hired Beverly Smith, former associate head coach at North Carolina … Meaghan Asselta joined the Lafayette program as head coach after serving as an assistant at Rhode Island last season … Butler hired Scott Hall after 12 years of coaching at the high school level in Indiana … Missouri-St. Louis appointed Brian Levin. Levin coached at Murray State last season and replaces Chuck Sosnowski who resigned after five seasons with the Tritons … Jeff Dabney, an assistant coach at Southeast Missouri State, was hired at Tennessee State.

    Men's and women's tennis – Dominican (Illinois) named Sam Hargraves interim head coach of the men's tennis and women's tennis programs.

    Men's and women's volleyball – Manhattanville hired Daniel Cruz as women's coach. Cruz, who most recently coached at the community college level, takes over for interim head coach Casey Killard ... Shaw named Douglas Hunter head coach of the women's program. Hunter was the head coach of the women's volleyball program at Winston-Salem State last season.

    Men's and women's volleyball assistants – Alabama promoted Kevin Dunn after he served as a volunteer with the program last season … Chris Keen was named to the Florida women's program after two seasons as a volunteer assistant with the team.
