    Directors of athletics – Gerald Myers, director of athletics at Texas Tech, announced his retirement effective May 31, 2011, after 14 years in the position. Myers began his relationship with the school as a basketball student-athlete in 1955. He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from the university and began coaching the men's basketball program in 1970. In 1971, Myers was named head coach and went on to become the winningest men's basketball coach in program history. After 20 seasons as head coach, Myers became an athletics administrator and was promoted to his current position in 1996.

    Other transactions

    Presidents and chancellors – Thayne M. McCulloh, interim president at Gonzaga, was named to the position on a permanent basis.

    Associate directors of athletics – Gettysburg promoted assistant director of athletics Susan Fumagalli to associate director of athletics.

    Assistant directors of athletics – Delaware hired Augie Maurelli as assistant director of athletics for strength and conditioning. Maurelli worked at Georgetown the past seven seasons and was most recently the assistant athletics director for performance and leadership.

    Coaches

    Baseball assistants – Guilford hired Daniel Hadra as an assistant baseball coach … Clayton Kuklick and Matt McCarty were selected as assistant baseball coaches at Shepherd. Kuklick was an assistant coach at Georgia College.

    Women's basketball assistants – Kayla Felty was selected as an assistant coach. This is Felty's first coaching position after her time as a women's basketball student-athlete at West Chester.

    Men's and women's cross country and track and field – Kristin Murphy was named head coach of the men's and women's cross country programs at Wheelock … Massachusetts-Boston hired Consandria Walker as head coach of the men's and women's cross country and track and field programs. Walker is a recent graduate and four-year track and field student-athlete at Northeastern.

    Men's and women's cross country and track and field assistants – Missouri promoted Dan Lefever to associate head coach of the men's track and field program. Lefever has coached the combined events and jumps at Missouri the past eight seasons … UC Irvine hired Katelyn Ciarelli as an assistant coach for men's and women's track and field. Ciarelli served as a volunteer coach with the program last season.

    Men's and women's lacrosse – Laura Campbell returned to her alma mater American as head coach of the women's lacrosse program. Campbell was a four-year member of the American women's lacrosse program and graduated in 2003. She was most recently head coach of the women's lacrosse program at Marist … Elizabeth Sullivan was named the first women's lacrosse head coach at Wheelock.

    Men's and women's lacrosse assistants – Nate Bates was hired as an assistant coach of the men's lacrosse program at Guilford. Bates previously worked at the high school level.

    Men's and women's soccer – Gettysburg director of athletics David Wright was named acting head coach of the men's soccer program for the 2010 season.

    Men's and women's soccer assistants – Brett Kelly, assistant coach of the men's soccer program at Gettysburg was promoted to associate coach.

    Men's and women's tennis – Wheelock selected Emilio Zamalloa as head coach of the men's tennis program.

    Staff

    Athletic training -- Wheelock hired Kelsey Steube, a 2010 Boston U. graduate, as the assistant athletic trainer.
