    Saint Rose named its softball field in honor of current Athletics Director Cathy Cummings Haker. Haker has guided the development of athletics department for the last 34 years from membership in a small regional conference, to the NAIA and finally to the NCAA as a Division II member institution. The number of athletics programs sponsored by the school has risen from two to 18 during her tenure.

    Other transactions

    Associate directors of athletics – Southern Indiana promoted Jay Newton from assistant director of athletics to associate director of athletics.

    Coaches

    Men's and women's cross country and track and field – UC Santa Cruz elevated assistant coach Aaron Jacobsen to interim head coach of the women's cross country program … Wisconsin-Whitewater hired Josh Ireland as head coach of the women's track and field program. Ireland was a student-athlete on the track and field team the past four years and recently completed his master's degree.

    Men's and women's cross country and track and field assistants – Raylene Ross joined the Army men's and women's track and field programs as an assistant coach. Ross was most recently an academic advisor at South Carolina and previously served as assistant coach for the men's and women's track and field programs from 2006 through 2007 … Georgia Southern selected Ken Hunt as an assistant coach for the men's and women's track and field programs.

    Rowing assistants – Catherine Starr returned to her alma mater Brown as an assistant coach for the women's rowing program. Starr rowed at Brown from 2002 to 2005 and was a member of the Division I national championship team in 2004.

    Softball assistants -- Vanessa Becerra was elevated to interim head coach of the Metro State softball program. Becerra was an assistant coach with the program and takes over for Jen Fisher, who accepted the softball head coach position at Colorado State.

    Softball – Belmont hired Kacey Frost as an assistant coach. Frost is a former softball student-athlete from UNLV and was previously an assistant softball coach at Barry.

    Men's and women's volleyball – Todd Hollenbeck was elevated to interim head coach of the men's and women's volleyball programs at UC Santa Cruz. Hollenbeck served as an assistant coach for both programs last season.

    Conferences

    Jimmy Johnson rejoined the Patriot League as the coordinator of multimedia services/media relations. Johnson was an intern with the conference in 2009 and most recently worked as a beat writer in Reading, Pennsylvania.
