    Former Wisconsin-Superior student-athlete and coach Dominic "Dom" Moselle died August 19 at the age of 85. Moselle was a basketball and football student-athlete from 1946 to 1949, and the first Wisconsin State University Conference (now Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) student-athlete selected in the NFL draft. Following his career in the NFL and Canadian Football League, Moselle coached at Wabash before returning to Wisconsin-Superior as a coach for the baseball, basketball, football and track programs until his retirement in 1986.

    Other transactions

    Assistant directors of athletics – Marywood promoted Andrew Smith to assistant director of athletics and recreation for communication. Smith has been the director of sports information and athletics promotions since 2004. He will also be entering his 11th seasons as head coach of the women's soccer program.

    Coaches

    Baseball assistants – Marywood selected Thomas Czerw to succeed departing Matt Fidati as an assistant coach.

    Men's basketball – Howard Moore was selected as head coach at Illinois-Chicago. Moore served as an assistant coach at Wisconsin the past five seasons.

    Women's basketball – Saint Augustine's hired Rachel Sloan Bullard as head coach following two seasons as an assistant coach at Charleston Southern.

    Women's basketball assistants – Shepherd selected Antoinette "Toni" West as an assistant coach. West was most recently the head coach at Cal State East Bay.

    Men's and women's cross country and track and field – Kristin Murphy was named head coach of the men's and women's cross country programs at Wheelock.

    Men's and women's cross country and track and field assistants – Plattsburgh State selected Nick Jones as an assistant coach for the men's and women's track and field programs. Jones previously coached at the high school level … Liberty hired Derek Scott as an assistant coach for the men's and women's cross country and track and field program … Dan Newell joined the Liberty men's and women's track and field program as an assistant coach. Newell completed his career as a track and field student-athlete at Liberty in the spring of 2009 … Washington named Lauren Denfeld assistant coach of the men's and women's cross country and track and field programs following her time as a student-athlete and assistant coach at Oregon State … Meredith Crane was selected as an assistant coach for the men's and women's cross country and track and field programs at Mississippi following one season as a volunteer assistant coach at Oregon State.

    Field hockey – Marywood elevated Megan Bullock to head coach. Bullock, an assistant coach last season, succeeds Carla Chiampi, who resigned after three seasons.

    Men's and women's golf – Puget Sound named Matt Robles as head coach of the men's and women's golf programs. Robles spent the past five seasons as an assistant coach for the Puget Sound men's basketball team.

    Men's and women's lacrosse – Fort Lewis named Kelsey MacDonald head coach of the women's lacrosse program. MacDonald spent the past two seasons at Wellesley, first as an assistant coach then as an interim head coach of the women's lacrosse program … Sage selected Jackie Luszczek as head coach of the women's lacrosse program. Luszczek is entering her sixth season as head coach of the women's basketball program.

    Men's and women's lacrosse assistants – Marywood selected Megan Foy as an assistant coach for the women's lacrosse and Frank Abruzzini as an assistant coach for the men's lacrosse program.

    Men's and women's soccer – Tony Roma, a former men's soccer student-athlete at Marywood, was named an assistant coach with the women's soccer program.

    Softball – Bemidji State hired former graduate assistant Shane Gunderson as head coach of the softball program. Gunderson was a graduate assistant with the Bemidji State baseball team from 2007 to 2009 and spent last season coaching at the community college level … Muhlenberg selected Marisa DeStasio as head coach after the departure of Roni Rivera, who was named head coach at Iona. DeStasio was an assistant at Lafayette the past three seasons.

    Men's and women's swimming and diving – Former Siena head men's and women's swimming and diving coach Greg Brown was named head coach of the men's and women's swimming and diving programs at Marywood.

    Men's and women's volleyball – Kevin Moore is returning to his alma mater Juanita as head coach of the men's volleyball program. Moore spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach for the men's volleyball program at George Mason … Chris Summa returned to Marywood as head coach of the women's volleyball program. Summa coached the team in 2007 and takes over for John Bidell, who resigned … Mount Union selected former student-athlete Melissa Mahnke as assistant coach of the women's volleyball program. Mahnke completed her career as a volleyball student-athlete last season and is currently the program's all-time kills leader.
