    Carleton named Cassie Kosiba, who has been an assistant at Long Island for the past four years, as its new women's basketball coach. She will be the seventh coach in Carleton women's basketball history, taking over for Tammy Metcalf-Filzen, who announced her retirement effective June 2010 after registering a 226-122 ledger in 13 seasons at the helm.

    Men's basketballFred Hoiberg, who built a legendary career as a player at Iowa State, is returning to his alma mater as head men's basketball coach. Hoiberg, a 10-year NBA veteran and, most recently, an executive with the Minnesota Timberwolves, is the 19th head coach in Iowa State history … Maryland assistant Chuck Driesell was hired as the head coach at The Citadel. Driesell joined the Maryland staff after serving as a high school coach from 2004-06. Before that, he was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Georgetown in 2003-04. He's the son of legendary head coach Lefty Driesell.

    Men's and women's soccer – Concordia University Texas named Wes Schevers, former assistant men's soccer coach at West Texas A&M, to its head men's coaching position.
