Carroll selected Joe Baker to be the school's first full-time athletics director. Baker held the same job at Wisconsin-La Crosse for the past 12 years. Baker began his career as a basketball coach, making stops at Alabama-Huntsville, Rutgers and Colgate.

Athletics directors – Fort Valley State hired Perry Caldwell, who most recently served as interim athletics director at Miles.
Coaches
Men's basketball – Appalachian State promoted Jason Capel to replace Buzz Peterson. Capel was an assistant to Peterson last season and played professionally after graduating from North Carolina in 2002 … C.J. Woollum will retire from Christopher Newport. He will remain as athletics director.
Men's basketball assistants – Delaware hired Mike Pegues to return to his alma mater. Pegues was most recently the video coordinator at Virginia Commonwealth.
Women's basketball – Houston selected Todd Buchanan, a former assistant at Houston Baptist … Randolph tabbed Allison Nichols. Nichols has experience as an assistant at Augusta State and East Carolina … Michael Bradbury accepted the job at Wright State. He coached at Morehead State the past three seasons … UNC Wilmington did not renew Ann Hancock's contract. Hancock joined the Seahawks in 2000.
Men's and women's cross country – Jordan Cushing resigned from Macalester, effective May 31.
Field hockey – Wittenberg hired Kelley Hubbell, current head coach for Ithaca's women's lacrosse club team.
Men's and women's ice hockey – Rensselaer extended Seth Appert's contract through 2013-14. Appert led the Engineers to the Frozen Four earlier this year.
Men's and women's soccer – Menlo named former Embry-Riddle assistant Scott Myers the new head coach of the Oaks' women's soccer program.
Men's and women's tennis – Kimberly Scruton resigned from the men's and women's programs at Shenandoah. She will join the faculty at Methodist … Jim Boykin retired from the men's program at Charlotte. He coached the 49ers to 200 wins over 17 seasons.
Staff
Strength and conditioning – Eastern Michigan hired Blair Wagner as an assistant strength and conditioning coach. Wagner has been at The Citadel for the past three years.
