    Lafayette named Dianne Nolan head women's basketball coach. Nolan spent the past three seasons at Yale, the last year as associate head coach and recruiting coordinator. She was head coach at Fairfield for 28 seasons.

    Coaches

    Men's basketball assistants – Rico Hines joined the St. John's (New York) staff. Hines spent the past four seasons with the NBA's Golden State Warriors.

    Women's basketball – Winston-Salem State selected Stephen Joyner Jr., a former assistant at North Carolina Central, UNC Asheville, Livingstone, Florida A&M and his alma mater, Johnson C. Smith … Stephen F. Austin tabbed former Emporia State head coach Brandon Schneider. Schneider's Lady Hornets won the 2010 NCAA Division II title. In 12 seasons at Emporia State, Schneider's teams made 11 NCAA tournament appearances.

    Men's and women's ice hockey assistants – Miami (Ohio) promoted Brent Brekke to associate head coach and Nick Petraglia to assistant head coach in the men's program. Brekke has been with the Redhawks for two seasons, while Petraglia spent the past six years with the team.

    Men's and women's lacrosse – Augustana (Illinois) hired Sara Tisdale for its new women's program. Tisdale was a club coach at Michigan State and a student-athlete at Central Michigan.

    Men's and women's soccer assistant – Ashley Phillips joined the women's program at Northeastern. Phillips was a student-athlete at Clemson.

    Men's and women's volleyball assistant – Mary Hock Leventis joined the women's program at Winthrop, her alma mater.

    Deaths

    Former Colorado State football student-athlete Keli McGregor died April 20. A former administrator at Arkansas and football assistant at Florida, McGregor was president of the Colorado Rockies. He was 48.
