    DIII seeks to fill committee vacancies

    The NCAA is soliciting nominations for January 2011 vacancies on the following Division III committees. The deadline for submitting nomination materials is August 6, 2010.  Nominations must be submitted online (the Division III access code is committee3 and the Division III password is 2006).

    Division III Management Council 

    Outgoing members: Susan Chapman, Worcester State College; Lynn Oberbillig, Smith College; Daniel Fulks, Transylvania University.

    Three vacancies. At least two must be females. There are no other restrictions on these appointments. Per NCAA Bylaw 4.8.1, the composition of the Management Council is limited to presidents or chancellors, faculty athletics representatives, directors of athletics, senior woman administrators or conference representatives. 

    The following conference currently have representation on the Council and therefore are not eligible for consideration: Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference, Capital Athletic Conference, College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, Colonial States Athletic Conference, Commonwealth Coast Conference, Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, Landmark Conference, Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference, Middle Atlantic Conferences, Midwest Conference, New England Small College Athletic Conference, New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference, North Eastern Athletic Conference, Ohio Athletic Conference, Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, University Athletic Association, Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

    Division III Championships Committee 

    Outgoing members: Louis McCleary, Elms College; Ira Zeff, Nebraska Wesleyan University.

    Two vacancies. At least one female; one must be from Region 1 (Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Vermont).

    The following conferences currently have representation on the committee and therefore are not eligible for consideration: New England Collegiate Conference, New England Small College Athletic Conference, Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, State University of New York Athletic Conference.

    Division III Financial Aid Committee  

    Outgoing members: Melissa Ibanez, University of Pittsburgh, Bradford; Joseph Onderko, Presidents' Athletic Conference; Charles Edmonson, Alfred University.

    Three vacancies. One must be a chancellor or president; one must be a financial aid administrator from a public institution; one must be an ethnic minority. 

    The following conferences currently have representation on the committee and therefore are not eligible for consideration: Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference, College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, Empire 8, Great Northeast Athletic Conference, Landmark Conference, Middle Atlantic Conferences, Midwest Conference, Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, North Coast Athletic Conference, Northwest Conference, Presidents' Athletic Conference.

    Division III Committee on Infractions 

    Outgoing member: Germaine McAuley, Spelman College.

    One vacancy. Appointee must be a female.

    The following conferences currently have representation on the committee and therefore are not eligible for consideration: Great South Athletic Conference, Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, State University of New York Athletic Conference.

    Division III Membership Committee 

    Outgoing members: Diana Schwartz, Westfield State College; Mark Majeski, Willamette University.

    Two vacancies. One must be a faculty athletics representative; one must be from Region 1 (Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Vermont); one must be a female.

    The following conferences currently have representation on the committee and therefore are not eligible for consideration: Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference, Capital Athletic Conference, College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference, Midwest Conference, North Coast Athletic Conference, Northwest Conference, Old Dominion Athletic Conference, USA South Athletic Conference.

    Division III Nominating Committee 

    Outgoing members: Joanne Renn, Virginia Wesleyan College; Tim Millerick, Austin College.

    Two vacancies. One must be from Region 3 (Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia); one must be a female.  Committee preference:  one commissioner.

    The following conferences currently have representation on the committee and therefore are not eligible for consideration: Capital Athletic Conference, Centennial Conference, Northwest Conference, Old Dominion Athletic Conference, Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

    Division III Student-Athlete Reinstatement Committee 

    Outgoing member: George Nazario, The College of New Jersey.

    One vacancy. The appointee must be an ethnic-minority male.

    The following conferences currently have representation on the committee and therefore are not eligible for consideration: Great South Athletic Conference, Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference, New Jersey Athletic Conference, USA South Athletic Conference.
