    Sunshine State inks title sponsor for basketball

    The Sunshine State Conference has retained Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida as the title sponsor of the league's men's and women's basketball championships. This year's tournament finals are March 6-7 at Nova Southeastern.

    "Last year, the generous support of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida made it possible for the conference and Nova Southeastern to host a first-class event," said Commissioner Jay Jones. We are thrilled that they will be our partner again this year and we are looking forward to another fantastic tournament."

    Both the men's and women's brackets accommodate eight teams. Quarterfinals are contested on the campuses of the higher-seeded teams. Winners of the finals at Nova Southeastern receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Basketball Championships.

    The Sunshine State Conference is composed of Barry, Eckerd, Florida Southern, Florida Tech, Lynn, Nova Southeastern, Rollins, Saint Leo and Tampa.
