A second-half surge propelled C. W. Post to its second consecutive Division II Men's Lacrosse Championship on Sunday in Baltimore.

The Pioneers beat Le Moyne in the rematch of the 2009 championship game, 14-9.

C.W. Post opened quickly but gave up five consecutive goals to end the first half. The Pioneers regrouped at halftime, increasing the defensive pressure to cause turnovers and using the last two periods to outscore Le Moyne, 9-1.

"Our offense came together and started to play as a unit, and we were able to get more points on the board," said C.W. Post head coach John Jez. "There's really no star on this offense. We really helped each other out."

Most outstanding player honors went to the Pioneers' Eddie Plompen, who scored three of his four goals in the fourth quarter. [More]
