Barry won the Division II Men's Tennis Championship by upsetting two favored opponents on their way to the crown Saturday in Altamonte Springs, Florida.

First, the Buccaneers beat returning champion Armstrong Atlantic State in the quarterfinals. Then in the championship match against top-ranked Valdosta State, the Buccaneers came from a 2-1 deficit to win the championship, 5-4.

"We were one behind, and we knew that being behind one was not fatal," said Barry coach George Samuel. "We still had a good chance of pulling through for the win. It was a bit of hard work and a little luck at the end." [More]
