    CoSIDA names men's track and field academic honorees

    The College Sports Information Directors of America recently chose David McNeill of Northern Arizona and Mark Husted of Colorado School of Mines to be Academic All-Americans of the Year for men's track and field and cross country.

    Representing the university division, McNeill won the 5,000-meter run in both the indoor and outdoor Division I Men's Track and Field Championships. He led the Lumberjacks to a fourth-place finish at the Division I Men's Cross Country Championships, finishing second. He was named the Division I Scholar-Athlete of the Year by the Cross Country Coaches Association.

    Husted, a graduate student representing the college division, was the Division II national champion in the 800-meter run and a member of the national champion distance medley relay team at the indoor championships in 2010. Husted was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference academic athlete of the year.
