Southeast Missouri senior catcher Jim Klocke (left) and St. Thomas (Minnesota) (right) senior pitcher Matt Schuld headline the 2010 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America baseball teams selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Klocke and Schuld were chosen as the Academic All-Americans of the Year in the university and college divisions, respectively.

Klocke is a business administration major (minoring in finance) with a 3.94 grade-point average. He was a second-team selection as a junior. A four-year starter at catcher for the Redhawks, he was named first-team all-Ohio Valley Conference as a sophomore and junior and was honored as a third-team Louisville Slugger All-American in 2009. One of 10 finalists for the Lowe's Senior Class Award, he is batting .371 with 21 doubles, 13 home runs and 66 runs batted in.

He has led Southeast Missouri State to a 30-23 record and a berth in the Ohio Valley Conference tournament this weekend.

Honored as an NCAA Division III All-American in 2009, Schuld was a third-team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America College Division selection last year.

A business major with a 3.69 GPA, he led St. Thomas to the 2009 Division III national championship. En route to a 12-1 record last season, he won two games in the Division III finals. In 2009, he posted a 9-0 record against nationally ranked teams.

As a senior, he led the Tommies to a 35-9 record and another NCAA tournament berth. He posted a 10-1 record with one save and a 2.05 ERA. A two-time all-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference selection, he was honored as the MIAC's Pitcher of the Year in 2010. Schuld compiled a career record of 30-5.

Senior first baseman David Towarnicky of Appalachian State, a third-team member of last year's University Division team, joins Klocke as the only repeat selections on this year's University Division first team.

Schuld is one of three members of the College Division squad named to the third team in 2009. The others are senior infielder Chris Fishburn of Thomas More and junior outfielder Chris Stallone of Scranton. Additionally, senior outfielder Camden Mamigonian of RPI earned first-team honors in 2010 after making the second team last season.
