Missy Tiber was chosen as head women’s basketball coach at Southern Illinios. Tiber has spent the past eight years in charge of programs at Division II Tusculum and Belmont Abbey, where she compiled a 167-70 record and guided teams to three NCAA tournament berths. She replaces Dana Eikenberg, who resigned April 2, after five seasons at Southern Illinois.

Other transactions

Presidents and chancellors – Thomas L. Krepel, assistant to the president of Northern Illinois, was named as president at Fairmont State. Krepel has been the assistant to the president at Northern Illinois since 2005 and formerly served as president at Chadron State from 1998 to 2005.

Men’s basketball – Long Island awarded head coach Jim Ferry a contract extension. Ferry recently completed his seventh year in charge of the program.

Football – Newberry elevated Todd Knight to head coach, replacing Zak Willis. Knight, the college’s 18th head football coach, has been the defensive coordinator for the past six seasons and formerly was an assistant at Charleston Southern, Lees-McRae and Gardner-Webb.

WrestlingBrandon Brissette was hired as head wrestling coach at Olivet. Brissette, who also will be an instructor in the Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Sport Department, has been an assistant coach at Heidelberg for the past five seasons.
