Saint Augustine’s named interim head coach Margaret Richards as full-time head women’s basketball coach. Richards was interim head coach during 2008-09. Richards came to Saint Augustine’s from Louisville, where she served as a graduate assistant coach for the women’s basketball team. Richards also served as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Kentucky State from 2005-07. During her two-year stay, Richards helped the women’s basketball program go from consecutive losing seasons to a 19-win campaign. As a basketball player, Richards was a four-year guard at Nebraska, where she was team captain her last two seasons.

Presidents and chancellorsStanley Battle announced he will resign as chancellor at North Carolina A&T, effective June 30 … Pacific appointed Pamela Eibeck, former dean of engineering at Texas Tech, as president … Jane Gerety was named president at Salve Regina, effective in July. Gerety is an executive board officer at Saint Joseph’s Health System in Atlanta … Rose-Hulman President Gerald Jakubowski resigned, effective June 30 … Central (Iowa) President David Roe announced he will retire in June 2010 … Albion Executive Vice President Troy D. Vanaken will assume the presidency at Thiel in July.

Men’s basketball – Nevada hired 10-year assistant coach David Carter as its new head coach. Carter has spent the last four seasons as Nevada’s associate head coach.

Men’s basketball assistants – Virginia named Ritchie McKay associate head basketball coach.
