John Cossaboon appointed head men’s soccer coach at Ozarks (Arkansas). The former UC Santa Barbara, San Diego and Southern Methodist women’s coach has been assistant coach for the women’s team at Gonzaga for the past two years.

Other transactions

FootballAaron Vicko named interim head coach effective July 1 at Truman, which announced it will not renew five-year head coach Shannon Currier’s contract. Vicko is offensive coordinator at the school.

Football assistantsMatt Hachmann selected as defensive coordinator at Towson after nine seasons on the staff at Lafayette … Jack Curtis named safeties coach at Memphis.

Men’s lacrosseJamie Steele appointed interim head coach at Ursinus. The former Widener coach served most recently as an assistant at Haverford. Steele succeeds Glenn Carter, who resigned.

Women’s soccerJason Good hired as head women’s coach at Eastern Mennonite, where he is associate director of admissions and is a former men’s assistant coach.

Men’s soccer assistantKevin Doyle appointed at Virginia Tech.

Women’s volleyballApril Elsbernd selected as head coach at Dubuque. The former Cornell College assistant was head coach last season at Iowa Central Community College.

Notables

Connecticut’s Geno Auriemma has been selected as Division I coach of the year for the second straight year by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association. Auriemma, who received the award for the third time in his career, is the first to receive the honor in back-to-back years.
