Syracuse appointed Kevin M. Wall director of student-athlete support services, a new role designed to bring athletics and academic affairs closer together. Wall will report to both Athletics Director Daryl Gross and Associate Provost Sandra Hurd. He will also serve as team advisor for swimming and diving, men’s and women’s rowing, field hockey, ice hockey and women’s soccer.

Coaches

Men’s basketball – Bill Harris retired at Wheaton (Illinois) after 18 seasons as head coach … Matt Kilcullen stepped down at North Florida to take an administrative position. He has been with the school since 1999.

Women’s basketball – Arkansas-Pine Bluff will not renew the contract of Danny Evans.

Football assistants – Defiance alumnus Nate Jensen was named defensive coordinator for the Yellow Jackets. Jensen graduated with a degree in mathematics in 2004 … Methodist hired Vernon Wright to coach linebackers. Wright graduated from Austin Peay with a degree in special education in 2005.

Men’s and women’s soccer – Deb Cox resigned from the women’s program at Holy Cross.
