Buck Riley retired after 27 years as men’s basketball coach at Adrian – the fifth-longest tenure for a coach in the 100-year history of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association. Riley, who began coaching at the school in 1982, was on the sideline for 675 games, winning 275.

Women’s basketballTom Garrick resigned as head coach at Rhode Island, where he compiled a 56-112 mark through six seasons … Alico Dunk appointed interim head coach at Elizabeth City State, where he has assisted with the men’s team for six seasons. He replaces Antionette Carr, who remains at the school as a lecturer in the physical education department. She compiled an 18-38 record in two seasons at the helm.

Football assistantsJonathan Gombinski appointed director of football operations at Wagner after serving last season as a recruiting and operations assistant at Alabama … Dave Steckel assumed duties at Missouri as defensive coordinator, where he will continue to serve as linebackers coach. Also, Dave Odom has been promoted from director of football operations to safeties coach at the school … Robb Smith named special teams coordinator and outside linebackers coach and Randy Trivers selected as running backs coach at Rutgers. Smith previously was assistant head coach and defensive coordinator at Maine and Trivers was running backs coach at Syracuse.

Women’s volleyballMike Johnson named head coach at Austin Peay State after serving for the past three seasons as associate head coach at Cal Poly. He also has been on the staff at Washington … Kevin Daniels hired at Peace after serving last season as an assistant at UNLV.
