Michigan extended men’s ice hockey coach Gordon Berenson’s contract by one year. Berenson has coached the Wolverines for 25 years and played for Michigan as a student-athlete in the 1960s. Under Berenson’s leadership, the team has participated in 18 consecutive NCAA tournaments.

Football assistants – Colgate named Nick Monroe and Ryan Knowles co-defensive coordinators… North Carolina tabbed Troy Douglas as defensive backs coach, Art Kaufman as linebackers coach and Allen Mogridge as tight ends coach… San Diego promoted Todd Washington to offensive coordinator and Tanner Engstrand to quarterbacks coach. The Toreros also named Keith Carter tight ends coach, Sam Anno linebackers coach, Ken Stills defensive backs coach and Joe Staab defensive assistant. … Richmond hired Kevin Lewis to be assistant defensive line coach.
