Dan Shula - the grandson of NFL coaching legend Don Shula - has been named an offensive assistant for the Illinois State football team. Shula comes to Illinois State after a two-year graduate assistantship (2007-08) at Miami (Florida), where he worked primarily with the Hurricanes’ offensive line.

Other transactions

Presidents and chancellors – John L. Crain, interim president and former provost and vice president for academic affairs at Southeastern Louisiana, was named president on a permanent basis. … Stephen J. Friedman, acting president of Pace, has been appointed to the job on a permanent basis. … Janet Morgan Riggs, provost and interim president at Gettysburg, was named president on a permanent basis.

Coaches

Men’s basketball – Macalester announced the resignation of men’s basketball coach Curt Kietzer.

Men’s and women’s soccer -- Todd Ervin has been named coach of the Moravian men’s soccer team. … Missouri-St. Louis named Bobby Lessentine as the Tritons’ women’s soccer coach.
