Amy Bambenek, who has 11 years experience of coaching experience on the NCAA Division I level, including three as an assistant at Florida State and the last eight as an assistant and associate head coach at George Washington, has been named to take over as head volleyball coach at UNC Wilmington.

Other transactions

Presidents and chancellors – H. Scott Bierman, was named president of Beloit College. … Mark C. Gordon, was named president of Defiance College. … Elizabeth Stroble was hired as president and chief executive of Webster University in Missouri.

Coaches 

Men’s and women’s golf – Adams State hired Jay Osmon as men’s golf coach.

Men’s and women’s tennis – Edgewood announced that Stu Schaefer will be interim coach of the women’s tennis team.

Football assistants – Akron named Shane Montgomery offensive coordinator-tight ends coach and Walt Harris passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach. … Washington named Dan Cozzetto offensive line coach and promoted Doug Nussmeier to offensive coordinator.

Deaths

Sarah Tilman, a 2004 graduate of Carleton and a former member of its synchronized swimming team, passed away on February 9.
