Tracy Hottenstein, a former Delaware women’s lacrosse student-athlete, died last weekend. The cause of her death is still unknown at this time. Hottenstein, 35, was a defender at Delaware for the 1992 and 1993 seasons, appearing in 14 total games.

Beloit has named H. Scott Bierman as its new president. He previously served as the academic dean at Carleton…Mark C. Gordon has been appointed president at Defiance. Gordon previously worked as the dean of the Detroit Mercy School of Law…Webster named Elizabeth Stroble as the institution’s president. She previously served as the senior vice president, provost and chief operating officer at Akron.

Athletics directors

Bill Stiles has been named the director of athletics and recreation at Alvernia. Stiles worked the previous five years as the athletics director at Chestnut Hill.

Coaches

Football assistants – Cincinnati hired Bob Diaco as its defensive coordinator, and promoted Kerry Coombs to associate head coach and Mike Elston to assistant head coach…Denver Johnson has been named offensive line coach at Colorado…J.C. Harmon was appointed assistant head coach and offensive coordinator at Juniata…North Dakota State hired Mike Breske as its defensive coordinator and Charlie Camp is its linebackers coach…Troy Walters has been hired as Indiana State’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks and wide receivers coach…Frank Cignetti Jr. has been appointed as the offensive coordinator at Pittsburgh.

Strength and conditioning – Harvard has hired James Frazier as the school’s director of strength and conditioning.
