Tonia Walker has been named the interim director of athletics at Winston Salem State. Walker came to the school in 2000 and assumed responsibilities as head volleyball coach and assistant athletics director. Most recently, she worked as the school’s associate athletics director in charge of the internal operations of the athletics department. Walker replaces Percy “Chico” Caldwell.

Presidents and chancellorsLinda L.M. Bennett has been promoted to president at Southern Indiana. She had previously served as provost and vice president for academic affairs at the school …Occidental has named Jonathan Veitch as the institution’s new president. Veitch’s previously worked as the dean at Eugene Lang … Jo Ellen Johnson Parker has been hired as the president at Sweet Briar. Her previous employment was as the executive director at National Institute for Technology and Liberal Education.

Football assistantsDon Yanowsky has been named the tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator at LSU. Yanowsky spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach at Boston College … Marshall announced Jeff Burrow as its new assistant secondary coach. Burrow had previously been the wide receivers coach at Jacksonville State the past two seasons … Kansas offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Ed Warinner has been promoted to associate head coach. Tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator Brandon Blaney will also be the team’s assistant offensive line coach.

Men’s and women’s lacrosse assistantsPatrick Kaczmarczyk has been appointed assistant women’s lacrosse coach at Queens (North Carolina).

Men’s and women’s soccer assistants – Franklin Pierce hired Craig Stewart as the school’s men’s soccer coach. Stewart has previously served as an assistant coach at Northeastern and Providence.

Men’s and women’s volleyball Emerald Fulmore has been named the head women’s volleyball coach at Johnson C. Smith. She previously served as the athletics department’s compliance coordinator.
