Olivet head men’s golf coach Gary Morrison announced he will retire after the 2010 season. Kevin Allard has been appointed as Morrison’s successor. Morrison has been at Olivet for more than 40 years, the last 35 as golf coach. Allard, a 1981 Olivet graduate, has been Morrison’s assistant for the last five years.

Other transactions

Directors of athletics – Michael Bujol, interim AD at New Orleans and a longtime member of the athletics staff, announced he is resigning from that post and will not serve in another position within the athletics department. Bujol has been serving as interim AD since August 1.

Coaches

Baseball – Former Rhode Island College head coach Jay Grenier joined the Wheaton (Massachusetts) staff as an assistant, along with Tom McMahon and Pete Pasquarosa. McMahon previously was an assistant at Pomona-Pitzer and Pasquarosa has coached at Boston College and Babson.

Football – Indianapolis head coach Joe Polizzi stepped down from his post after 16 years. Polizzi, who informed the team of his decision yesterday, cited personal reasons for his resignation.

Soccer  – UNC Pembroke men’s soccer coach Mike Schaeffer announced his retirement from coaching after a 30-year career there.

SoftballErin Fuoroli hired as assistant coach at Wheaton (Massachusetts). She played at Keene State.
