Philadelphia head men’s and women’s tennis coach Marty Gilbert announced plans to retire at the end of the fall tennis seasons. In 13 seasons as head men’s coach and 12 seasons as head women’s coach, he has posted three NCAA East Regional tournament appearances and two CACC championships. Gilbert formerly was head men’s coach at Haverford from 1973-80 and served as the national coach and director of the Israel Tennis Center in Jaffa/Tel Aviv, Israel, from 1987-96. 

Other transactions

Men’s basketball – Zach Spiker was named as head coach at Army. Spiker has been an assistant coach at Cornell since 2004. Before joining Cornell, he spent two seasons as an administrative assistant at West Virginia and was a graduate assistant at Winthrop from 2000-02.

Associations – NACWA selected Megan Valentine as director of membership and convention services. Valentine was the assistant athletics director for athletics special events and club sports and assistant softball coach at Wellesley.
