Ryan Squire was named assistant athletics director for compliance at Illinois after two years as assistant AD for compliance and certification at Bowling Green. He was compliance coordinator at Illinois from 2002 to 2007, and earlier served as associate director for compliance and student services at Cincinnati.

Other transactions

Assistant director of athleticsDoug Straley was promoted to assistant AD for sports medicine at Manhattan, where he has been director of sports medicine since 2003.

Coaches

Men’s basketballBilly Clapper was hired as head coach at Penn State Altoona. He has been an assistant for the past two years at Pittsburgh-Johnstown.

Women’s basketballKelli Dunlay was selected as head coach at Mercy. She previously has been an assistant at Adelphi, where she played, and at St. Thomas Aquinas.

Women’s basketball assistantDenae Fisher was appointed assistant coach at Carthage (Wisconsin), where she also will be assistant director of intramurals. Fisher was a graduate assistant coach last season at Bemidji State.

Lacrosse John Battaglino was named associate head women’s coach at Albany after five years as an assistant coach at Syracuse.

SoftballJoe Swick was named head coach at Clarion. He is a former coach at Florida Atlantic and assistant coach at Rollins.
