Tennessee Tech hired Sytia Messer as the Golden Eagles’ new women’s basketball coach. Messer was at Georgia Tech for five years, most recently as an associate head coach. She was a standout player at Arkansas and was an assistant coach at Arkansas State and at Memphis before joining the Georgia Tech staff.

Coaches

Men’s and women’s cross country – David Bracetty has been named cross country coach at Muhlenberg … Kevin Lucas was named women’s cross country and track and field coach at Mount Union.

Men’s and women’s swimming and diving assistants – Army announced Bret Lundgaard as an assistant men’s swimming and diving coach.

Men’s and women’s volleyball – Patric Santiago has been named the interim women’s volleyball coach at Farmingdale State.

Staff

External affairs – Barb Kowal, who this past June was named the College Sports Information Directors of America’s first communications director, has been elevated to director of external affairs.
