Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Associate Commissioner Sandee Mott announced that she has resigned from the conference office to become the associate athletics director at Metropolitan State. Her responsibilities will include compliance, academic services/life skills, sport program supervision, game day administrator and student-athlete advisory committee advisor, as well as serving as the department’s senior woman administrator.

Coaches

Men’s basketball – Ball State signed men’s basketball coach Billy Taylor to a two-year contract extension through March 31, 2014.

Men’s and women’s lacrosse – St. Andrews Presbyterian hired Kati Robbins as the coach of the women’s lacrosse program.

Men’s and women’s tennis – Saint Leo named James Bryce the men’s and women’s tennis coach … District of Columbia announced Theodore Richard F. Mahaffey III as men’s and women’s tennis coach.

Men’s and women’s tennis assistants – Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute announced Aileen Ascolese as an assistant coach for the women’s soccer team.

Men’s and women’s volleyball – WPI hired Alex Temkin as the women’s volleyball coach.

Men’s and women’s volleyball assistants – Chuck Rey Jr. was hired as an assistant coach on the Winthrop women’s volleyball team.

Deaths

Eckerd sophomore tennis player William Holt Weeks died in an automobile accident on July 23.
