Toledo hired Tarrah Beyster as the school’s head softball coach. Beyster, an all-American at Oregon State from 1997-2000, joins the Rockets after spending the 2009 season as the head coach at Vermont, which announced in February that the softball and baseball programs would be discontinued after the 2009 season. Beyster also previously served as an assistant at Bradley and Indiana.

Other transactions

Assistant athletics directors – Juniata promoted Sports Information Director Pete Lefresne to assistant athletics director for external relations and women’s soccer coach Scott McKenzie to assistant director of athletics for compliance. McKenzie will continue as head women’s soccer coach.

Coaches

Baseball – Marist chose Chris Tracz as its head baseball coach. Tracz pitched at Marist from 2001-05 and holds the program’s career records for victories, strikeouts, complete games, starts and innings pitched. He also served as the Red Foxes’ pitching coach from 2006-08 before spending this past season as Army’s pitching coach.

Baseball assistant – Cleveland State added Shane Davis as an assistant baseball coach.

Men’s basketball assistantsRuss Phillips joined Hobart’s staff as an assistant coach. He replaces Duncan Paddick, who resigned earlier this year to pursue a master’s degree. Phillips joins the Statesmen staff after serving in the same capacity for the SUNY Cortland men’s basketball team last season.

Women’s basketball assistantTony McAndrews was named as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Cleveland State

Football assistant – Albany appointed former Amherst assistant Akeem Cedeno as outside linebackers coach. 

Men’s and women’s golf – Former Texas A&M assistant men’s coach Jonathan Dismuke has taken the head men’s coaching position at Houston.

Men’s and women’s lacrosse – Franklin Pierce named Rick Senatore as head coach of men’s lacrosse and women’s cross country. Senatore coached previously at Saint Anselm.

SoftballCarissa Kalaba has been named Utah State head softball coach. Kalaba spent the last five seasons at NAIA member Biola.

Men’s and women’s volleyball assistant – Texas Woman’s hired Todd Lyles as an assistant women’s coach.
