Creighton named Chris Wiemers as head men’s golf coach, replacing Bob Hanson, who resigned this spring. Wiemers was the teaching professional at an Omaha golf club for the past three years. He is considered one of the top players in Nebraska and has participated in two of golf’s major tournaments, the 2005 PGA Championship at Baltusrol and the 2006 PGA Championship at Medinah.

Men’s basketball assistants – Greensboro hired Corey Gipson to be third assistant and promoted Brian Judski to second assistant … San Francisco promoted Jeff Linder to associate head coach in his second year with the program. Linder also has coaching experience with Weber State.

Field hockey assistants – Towson tabbed Meredith Long. She spent the last three seasons as an assistant at Vermont.

Wrestling assistantsJeremy Hunter joined Jim Heffernan’s staff at Illinois.  Hunter served as a volunteer assistant last season. Mike Poeta will serve as volunteer assistant.
