Greensboro named Matt Aker head baseball coach. Aker has been an assistant for the past six years and was a student-athlete at Mississippi. He spent one season as an assistant at his alma mater, then coached at the prep level for 10 seasons before joining Greensboro.

Other transactions

Assistant athletics directors – Armstrong Atlantic State named Michael Smoose assistant AD for internal operations and Brittany Schmidt assistant AD for marketing and promotions. Smoose was an assistant sports information director at Florida State for the last five years. Schmidt also serves as an assistant volleyball coach for the Pirates. She is the first marketing and promotions staffer at Armstrong Atlantic since 1998.

Coaches

Field hockey assistants – Delaware hired former Blue Hen Carly Campana. Campana was an assistant at Susquehanna and also served as head coach of two club teams.  The Blue Hens also hired Jessica Cortellino as a student assistant. Cortellino was a member of the team from 2005-08.

Men’s and women’s golf – Richmond hired Jill Briles-Hinton for its women’s program. She spent the past 11 years at Florida, leading the Gators to six NCAA championship appearances and the 2008 NCAA East Regional title. Briles-Hinton was a student-athlete at Miami (Florida), where she earned a degree in education.
