Augusta State Athletics Director Clint Bryant reassigned head women’s basketball coach Tes Sobomehin and will serve as interim coach of the program for the remainder of the season. Sobomehin was hired to coach the Lady Jags on June 24, 2008. She had been head coach at Kalamazoo. Bryant, at Augusta State for 22 years, coached the men’s team from 1988-97.

Other transactions

Presidents and chancellors – Matt Branam, interim president of Rose-Hulman and former chief operating officer at the American Red Cross, accepted the presidency on a permanent basis … Keith Miller, president of Lock Haven, will succeed Eddie Moore as president at Virginia State. Moore will retire June 30. Before his presidency at Lock Haven, Miller was provost and vice chancellor at Wisconsin-Oshkosh, business school dean at Niagara and associate business school dean at Quinnipiac … Central Michigan selected Alcorn State President George E. Ross to lead the university beginning March 1, 2010. Ross was previously Central Michigan’s vice president for finance and administrative services.

Coaches

Football – Stony Brook extended the contract of Chuck Priore, keeping him at the school through the 2013 season. Priore compiled a 22-22 record in his first four seasons, including a share of the Big South Conference championship in 2009 … Murray State hired Chris Hatcher, who spent the last three years at the helm of the Georgia Southern program.

Men’s and women’s golf – Army’s Jimmy Ray Clevenger retired as men’s coach. He has been on leave since October. Chad Bagley, named interim coach earlier this year, will continue in the position during a search for a new coach.

Men’s and women’s lacrosse – Oberlin named Nancy Boutilier co-head coach of the women’s program. She served as an assistant from 2003-05.

Men’s and women’s soccer – Manny Oudin, Lehigh’s head women’s soccer coach, resigned to accept the position of athletics director at Moravian Academy.
