A second Division III women’s soccer coach joined the exclusive 400-victory club over the weekend as William Smith’s Aliceann Wilber became only the sport’s fourth coach in any NCAA division – and first woman – to achieve the milestone.

Wilber joined Rochester’s Terry Gurnett, who reached the milestone earlier this season, with the victory in her 30th season. The pair trail only Division I coaches Anson Dorrance of North Carolina and Len Tsantiris of Connecticut in career wins.

The Herons claimed the victory for Wilber in the final match of the regular season, a 1-0 win over Rochester Institute of Technology.

William Smith, which reached the Division III Women’s Soccer Championship semifinals last season for the seventh time in Wilber’s tenure, has led her teams to 18 appearances in the tournament. Her 1988 squad won the championship and her 1987 and 1997 squads were runners-up.
