Thomas More will sponsor men’s and women’s track and field as a varsity sport beginning in 2010 after the teams compete during the coming year at the club level.

Once the teams obtain varsity status, they will boost Thomas More’s sports sponsorship to 16 teams.

“We have had the addition of track and field on our radar for some time,” said Terry Connor, the school’s director of athletics. “With the first phase of The Bank of Kentucky Field and Griffin Plaza nearing completion, we thought it was natural to start a track and field program.”

Thomas More competes in the 10-member Presidents’ Athletic Conference.
