Sports committees seek Division III nominees

The NCAA News

The NCAA is soliciting nominations in Division III by March 20 for vacancies on 14 sports committees. All of the committees are seeking nominees to fill September 2009 vacancies, except the Division III Women’s Tennis Committee, which has an immediate vacancy.

Nominations must be submitted online here (the Division III access code is committee3; the Division III password is 2006).

Division III Baseball Committee: One September 2009 vacancy. The appointee must be from the South region and may be a coach or administrator. Eligible conferences – Capital Athletic Conference, Great South Conference, Landmark Conference, Old Dominion Athletic Conference, Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, University Athletic Association. Eligible independent institutions – Rust College. Committee information here.

Division III Men’s Basketball Committee: One September 2009 vacancy. The appointee must be from the Atlantic region and may be a coach or administrator. Eligible conferences – Landmark Conference, New Jersey Athletic Conference, Skyline Conference. Committee information here.

Division III Women’s Basketball Committee: One September 2009 vacancy. The appointee must be from the West region and may be a coach or administrator. Eligible conferences – Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Northwest Conference, Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Upper Midwest Athletic Conference. Eligible independent institutions – University of California, Santa Cruz; Chapman University; Menlo College; Nebraska Wesleyan University. Committee information here.

Men’s and Women’s Fencing Committee: One September 2009 vacancy. The appointee may be from any division or subdivision. The appointee must be from the Midwest region and may be a coach or administrator. Eligible Division III institutions –  Lawrence University. Committee information here.

Division III Women’s Lacrosse Committee. One September 2009 vacancy. The appointee must be from the New York region and may be a coach or administrator. Eligible conferences – Liberty League, North Eastern Athletic Conference, State University of New York Athletic Conference. Committee information here.

Division III Rowing Committee: One September 2009 vacancy. Appointee can be a coach or administrator from any region. Committee information here.

Men’s and Women’s Skiing Committee: One September 2009 vacancy. Appointee may be from any division or subdivision and may be a coach or administrator from any region. Eligible Division III institutions – Babson College; Clarkson University; Colby-Sawyer College; Green Mountain College; Gustavus Adolphus College; University of Maine, Presque Isle;  Massachusetts Institute of Technology; Northland College; Plymouth State University; College of St. Benedict; St. John’s University (Minnesota); St. Lawrence University; St. Olaf College; The College of St. Scholastica; Smith College; Whitman College. Division III Men’s Soccer Committee: Two September 2009 vacancies. Appointees must be from the Mid-Atlantic and North regions. One appointee must be an administrator. Eligible conferences – Mid-Atlantic region: Colonial States Athletic Conference, Commonwealth Conference, Landmark Conference, Centennial Conference, Freedom Conference, North Eastern Athletic Conference. North region:  Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Midwest Conference. Eligible independent institutions – North region: Bethany Lutheran College; Crown College (Minnesota); Finlandia University; Martin Luther College; University of Minnesota, Morris; Nebraska Wesleyan University; North Central University; Northland College; Northwestern College; College of St. Scholastica; University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh; University of Wisconsin, Platteville; University of Wisconsin, Superior; University of Wisconsin, Whitewater. Division III Women’s Soccer Committee: One September 2009 vacancy. Appointee must be from the East region and may be a coach or administrator. Division III Softball Committee: One September 2009 vacancy. Appointee must be from the West region and may be a coach or administrator. Eligible conferences –  American Southwest Conference, Northwest Conference, Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Division III Men’s Tennis Committee: One September 2009 vacancy. The appointee must be an administrator from the Northeast region. Eligible conferences – City University of New York Athletic Conference, Commonwealth Coast Conference, Empire 8, Freedom Conference, Great Northeast Athletic Conference, Landmark Conference, Little East Conference, New England Collegiate Conference, New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference, New Jersey Athletic Conference, North Atlantic Conference, North Eastern Athletic Conference, Skyline Conference. Eligible independent institutions – The College of New Jersey; State University College at Oneonta; State University College at Oswego; Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, Newark; St. Joseph’s College (Long Island). Division III Women’s Tennis Committee: One immediate vacancy. The appointee will replace George Kolb, formerly of Roger Williams, who resigned from the committee. The appointee must be form the Northeast region and may be a coach or administrator. Eligible conferences – City University of New York Athletic Conference, Empire 8, Freedom Conference, Great Northeast Athletic Conference, Liberty League, Little East, Massachusetts State Colleges Athletic Conference, New England Collegiate Conference, New England Small College Athletic Conference, New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference, New Jersey Athletic Conference, North Atlantic Conference, North Eastern Athletic Conference, Skyline Conference, State University of New York Athletic Conference, University Athletic Association. Eligible independent institutions – College of New Rochelle, College of Saint Elizabeth, St. Joseph’s College (Long Island). Committee information here.

Division III Women’s Volleyball Committee: Two September 2009 vacancies. The appointees must be from the New York and Great Lakes regions and may be coaches or administrators. Eligible conferences – Great Lakes region: Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association, North Coast Athletic Conference, Ohio Athletic Conference, Presidents’ Athletic Conference, University Athletic Association. New York region: City University of New York Athletic Conference, Liberty League, New Jersey Athletic Conference, North Eastern Athletic Conference, Skyline Conference, State University of New York Athletic Conference, University Athletic Association. Eligible ndependent institutions – Great Lakes region: Lake Erie College. New York region: College of New Rochelle, College of Saint Elizabeth, St. Joseph’s College (Long Island), Yeshiva University. Women’s Water Polo Committee: One September 2009 vacancy.  Appointee must be a Division III coach or administrator.
