The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference will observe its 10th anniversary in Indianapolis April 13 with its “Decade of Excellence through Athletics” Celebration.

Each of the league’s nine member schools will invite campus administrators, faculty, faculty athletics representatives, current or former athletics staff members, alumni and student-athletes to the luncheon program at the Indianapolis Westin. Current and former conference personnel, Division III staff members at the nearby NCAA national office and key HCAC supporters also are being invited.

Bernard Franklin, NCAA executive vice president for membership and student-athlete affairs, will be the keynote speaker.

Each institution will have memorabilia to show during the event, showcasing the schools’ athletics traditions and commitment to the student-athlete experience.

The former Indiana Collegiate Athletic Conference became the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference before the 1998-99 academic year, as two Ohio schools – Bluffton and Mount St. Joseph – joined Indiana schools Anderson, Franklin, Hanover and Manchester in the league. Three more schools – Defiance, Transylvania and Rose-Hulman – also have joined the league.
