Following is a summary of Division III news published February 9-13.

•         Division III Management Council member Lee McKinney of Fontbonne is one of two men’s basketball coaches who recently collected their 500th coaching wins . Bob Gaillard of Lewis and Clark also reached the milestone.

•         Johns Hopkins will discontinue sponsorship of men’s and women’s crew as varsity sports after completion of the teams’ spring schedule.

•         An all-American softball pitcher from DePauw, serving an internship with the New York City Fire Department, participated in last month’s rescue of passengers of a jet that ditched in the Hudson River.

•         Guilford named its basketball court for Jack Jensen, who has coached men’s basketball and golf teams at the school to national championships. It also retired the jerseys of six former men’s and women’s basketball players, including three former NBA players.
