Following is a summary of Division III news from the week of November 16-20.

  • The NCAA and the Laboratory for Diversity in Sport at Texas A&M honored 38 Division III schools with the 2008-09 Diversity in Athletics awards.
  • Hanover sophomore Daniel Passafiume’s 25 catches against Franklin broke an NCAA all-divisions single-game football record for receptions shared by Mississippi Valley State’s Jerry Rice and Brown’s Chas Gessner.
  • Lynchburg’s Allie Weir closed out her collegiate career with a share of the Division III career points record in field hockey.
  • Pairings are set for the two-year PAC-MAC Football Challenge Series between members of the Presidents’ Athletic Conference and the Middle Atlantic Conference.
  • The Eastern Collegiate Football Conference marked the end of its inaugural season by unveiling a conference logo and introducing a redesigned Web site.
  • Nominees are being sought for a January 2010 vacancy on the Division III Interpretations and Legislation Committee.
