Division III rewind

Following is a summary of Division III news from the week of October 26-30.

  • The Division III Presidents Council set the stage legislatively for the 2010 Convention by designating one proposal for a roll-call vote and giving its support to a pair of proposals sponsored by member conferences.
  • Widener President James T. Harris, current vice chair of the Division III Presidents Council, will become chair of that group in January. Council members also elected Hope President James E. Bultman to succeed Harris as vice chair.
  • Oswego State junior Meagan Big Snake will represent the Laker women’s ice hockey team, her college, her culture, her country and the Olympic spirit when she accompanies the world’s most famous flame across Canada this winter.
  • Hope opened its new Van Andel Soccer Stadium with a day-long community celebration, while Concordia-Moorhead announced plans for a $5 million upgrade of its Jake Christiansen Athletic Complex.
