Division III rewind

Following is a summary of Division III news from the week of May 18-22.

  • Four full years of financial aid reporting now are completed, during which about one-quarter of the division’s membership has been required to justify financial aid packaging for student-athletes.
  • Akeya Aimable came to Wartburg four years ago as a highly decorated high school sprinter. But a jumper she was not.
  • Oglethorpe won its first Division III Men’s Golf Championships team title, while Methodist continued its dominance of the Division III Women’s Golf Championships.
  • Also claiming Division III team titles were Franklin & Marshall in women’s lacrosse and Messiah in softball.
  • The NCAA is soliciting nominations for January 2010 vacancies on the Division III Management Council and committees in the Division III governance structure.
