Following is a summary of Division III news from the week of May 11-15.

  • The Division III Management Council has new members in positions allocated for a president and a student-athlete. Lisa Marsh Ryerson, president at Wells, and Erin Wojtkun, a soccer student-athlete at Christopher Newport, have joined the 19-member Council.
  • Franklin & Marshall expressed its appreciation for NCAA President Myles Brand’s leadership in intercollegiate athletics reform by conferring an honorary degree.
  • Salem is joining the Great South Athletic Conference this fall, boosting the league’s roster to eight member schools.
  • Sara Tolner, who will play this weekend for Gettysburg in the Division III Women’s Lacrosse Championship and will miss the college’s 174th graduation exercises, was treated to her very own commencement ceremony this week at the school.
