A Division III conference commissioner who coached men’s basketball for two decades at Edgewood will be inducted next month into the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

G. Steven Larson, commissioner of the Northern Athletics Conference since its formation in 2006, led his teams to a 362-216 record in 20 consecutive winning seasons at Edgewood in the Lake Michigan Conference, which merged into the NAC. He also was athletics director at the school.

He has the distinction of having led teams to national tournaments in the National Small College Athletic Association, National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and the NCAA.

Larson is one of three Division III coaches being inducted into the state’s hall of fame October 3, accompanying Beloit’s Dolph Stanley and Wisconsin-River Falls’ Rick Bowen.
