Division II will conduct its third Chancellors and Presidents Summit in June 2010.

The summit will be Friday, June 18, and Saturday, June 19, in Indianapolis.

Previous summits in 2005 and 2007 have been important in allowing presidents to engage in Division II’s strategic initiatives, including development of the division’s strategic-positioning platform and its commitment to community engagement and family-friendly game environments.

While a specific agenda for the 2010 session has not been determined, it is likely to continue to focus on strategic initiatives that promote the Division II identity and enhance student-athletes’ collegiate experiences.

Division II conferences also are being encouraged to conduct their summer chancellor/presidents meetings in conjunction with the summit (meeting rooms will be reserved in advance for this purpose). It is likely that the Division II Presidents Council will convene at the front end of the summit as well. The Council did that at the last summit and then completed business that was required out of the Management Council’s July meeting on an August conference call.

Additional information on the summit will be forthcoming as 2009 progresses; however, specific travel and hotel instructions will not be disseminated until early 2010.
