Great Lakes Valley Conference Commissioner Jim Naumovich has been elected to serve as president of the Division II Conference Commissioners Association. The appointment marks the second time Naumovich has served the CCA in the president’s role.

Naumovich was elected to complete the presidential term vacated by Mike Marcil, former commissioner of the Sunshine State Conference. Naumovich will serve through the end of the 2009-10 academic year.

Butch Raymond, commissioner of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, is currently serving as vice president of the CCA, while Alan Patterson of Conference Carolinas is secretary/treasurer.

In his 10th year as commissioner of the GLVC, Naumovich has led the expansion of the conference from 11 to 16 members. He is the longest-tenured commissioner in the league’s 32-year history.

Naumovich is a former member of the Division II Championships Committee and Regionalization Task Force and had previously served as president of the CCA from 2006-08.

The CCA, which meets Wednesday through Saturday in Kansas City, was initiated in 1992. The organization annually manages the Disney Tip-Off Classic and awards the Division II regional and national scholar-athletes of the year.
