Three Division II conferences recently announced agreements that give more exposure to their members’ athletics programs.

The Great Northwest Athletic Conference signed on with Penn Atlantic Inc. to videostream conference athletics events during 2009-10.

GNAC Commissioner Richard Hannan said most league home volleyball and men’s and women’s basketball games will be available free at http://www.greatnorthwest.tv . Selected other contests, including men’s and women’s home soccer contests at Montana State-Billings and home football games at Central Washington and Western Oregon, also will be streamed.

A total of 77 events will be streamed in September and October.

Meanwhile, the Great Lakes Valley Conference announced B2 Networks as its official broadband broadcaster. The technology provider plans to broadcast more than 400 GLVC events per year over the course of the multiyear agreement.

Fans can purchase individual games for the standard price of $7. Special season-pass pricing for basketball will be announced later this year. Each GLVC institution will have the option of adding more sports at its discretion.

GLVC Commissioner Jim Naumovich said 11 of the league’s 15 members will participate in the B2 Networks agreement. “This is a great opportunity to increase the visibility and exposure for our member institutions and for NCAA Division II across the country,” he said.

B2 Networks also has agreements with the Division II Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic, Pacific West and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conferences.

Also, the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference agreed to terms with Midcontinent Communications on a 36-event package for 2009-10.

The agreement includes two football games, four volleyball matches and 30 men’s and women’s basketball games. NSIC Commissioner Butch Raymond said Midcontinent will produce all the events and work with the visiting team’s cable company to broadcast the events locally for the traveling teams.
