Division II is giving member institutions and conference offices another $1,000 credit to use toward purchasing materials that promote themselves under the “I Chose Division II” identity campaign.

It is the second time that Division II has activated a purchasing Web site and seeded it with a $1,000 allocation. The site was created in 2007 as a way to help activate the division’s strategic-positioning platform at the institutional and conference level.

“That initial program was such a success that the Presidents and Management Councils have allocated another credit from the strategic-planning budget to institutions and conferences,” said Division II Vice President Mike Racy, noting that about 90 percent of schools took advantage of the initial program and many exceeded the $1,000 mark in purchases.

Division II members who attended the NCAA Convention received a purchasing catalog, which essentially is a visual representation of the Web site. The catalog represents only a sampling of items that are available this year – several of which are offered free of charge.

Items for purchase include banners, posters and signage, which can be used either as stand-alone items or be co-branded with the school or conference logos, messages or pictures.

Also new this year are several non-apparel promotional items such as megaphones, wristbands, luggage tags, pom-poms and rally towels.

Institutions and conferences must use their $1,000 credit by June 30. Orders must be placed online. Once a school or conference is selected, users must enter a case-sensitive password (ncaadii) to access the order forms.

Items that are free of charge (logos, graphics, screen savers, videos and ads) may be downloaded instantly, while items for purchase will be shipped four to six weeks after the order has been finalized.
