Division II rewind

Following is a summary of Division II news for the week of October 19-23.

  • The Division II Management Council took positions on the three legislative proposals submitted by member conferences for the 2010 Convention, including one that would change the first contest date in basketball from November 15 to the second Friday in November. The Council also reviewed legislative recommendations from the Division II Academic Requirements Committee, referring back to the ARC a measure to clarify the year-in-residence requirement for transfers who have been suspended from their teams but not from their schools.
  • Georgia Southwestern Athletics Director Jaclyn Kaylor was part of a record-breaking skydive recently to fight breast cancer.
  • Two cross country runners from Southern New Hampshire made a competitive sacrifice earlier this month in the name of sportsmanship.
  • Former PacWest Commissioner Woody Hahn is the 2009 recipient of the Conference Commissioners Association’s Award of Merit.
