Following is a summary of Division II news from the week of September 21-25.

  • The Division II Legislation Committee is opposing two of the three proposals submitted by the membership for the 2010 Convention.
  • Simon Fraser University, the first Canadian institution to be invited to participate in the Division II membership process, plans to be a member of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.
  • The Strategic Alliance Matching Grant Program in Division II is paying dividends for individuals who want to advance their careers in athletics administration.
  • Maryville (Missouri) announced it is reinstating track and field after a brief hiatus.
  • Division II has published an executive summary to accompany the Life in the Balance package in the Second Publication of Proposed Legislation.
