The Division II Presidents Council during its April 30 meeting ratified the following appointments for various Division II governance committees (including the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee) and sport committees.

Division II governance committee reappointments

Erin Lind, associate commissioner of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, to the Championships Committee.

James Morgan, law professor at Cal State Chico, to the Committee on Competitive Safeguards and Medical Aspects of Sports.

Eileen McDonough, faculty athletics representative at Barry, to the Foreign Student Records Committee.

Cortez Dial, Virginia State chief of staff, to the High School Review Committee.

Bruce Kirsh, athletics director at Franklin Pierce, to the Committee on Infractions

Jay Newton, assistant AD at Southern Indiana, to the Legislation Committee.

Gene Hermitte, faculty athletics representative at Johnson C. Smith, to the Committee for Legislation Relief.

Division II governance committee new appointments

Bob Dranoff, commissioner of the East Coast Conference, to the Championships Committee.

Michelle Gober, associate AD at Kutztown, to the Committee on Competitive Safeguards and Medical Aspects of Sports.

Jennifer Minke, assistant director of admissions at Texas A&M-Kingsville, to the Foreign Student Records Committee.

Christina Whetsel, director of compliance and student-athlete services at Angelo State; and Melissa Barrett, associate AD at Belmont, to the Legislation Committee.

Kim Pate, AD at Brevard (immediate appointment); and Brian Swanson, AD at Cal Poly Pomona (September 1, 2009, appointment), to the Membership Committee.

Charles Tucker, faculty athletics representative at Valdosta State; and Jaime Lundgren, associate AD at Nebraska-Kearney, to the Nominating Committee.

Venera Flores-Stafford, associate AD and head women’s volleyball coach at Midwestern State, to the Olympic Sports Liaison Committee.

Jim Givens, associate athletics director at Findlay, to the Baseball Committee.

Greg Bamberger, athletics director at Kutztown, to the Women’s Basketball Committee.

James DeMello, associate athletics director at Hawaii Hilo, to the Women’s Golf Committee.

Matt Bassett, athletics director at Le Moyne, to the Men’s Lacrosse Committee.

Ike Ofoje, head men’s soccer coach at South Carolina Aiken, to the Men’s and Women’s Soccer Rules Committee.

Jim Johnson, commissioner of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association, to the Men’s Basketball Committee, replacing Lonn Reisman, administrator and coach at Tarleton State.

Roberta Page, athletics director at Shippensburg (immediate appointment), to the Football Committee, replacing Bill Elias, former AD at Gannon; and Thomas Spicer, athletics director at Colorado Mines, replacing Kevin Buisman, AD at Minnesota State Mankato.

Dennis Helsel, athletics director at Chowan, to the Men’s Soccer Committee, replacing Paul Payne, coach at Bloomsburg; and Bobby Peterson, men’s soccer coach at Northeastern State, replacing Kurt Portman, associate AD at Midwestern State.

Lisa Sweany, senior associate athletics director at Grand Valley State, to the Softball Committee, replacing Kathy Stewart, coach and administrator at Northern Kentucky.

Lynn Griffin, associate athletics director at Indianapolis, to the Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Committee, replacing Dixie Cirillo, associate AD at Colorado Mines.

Jason Skoch, head women’s volleyball coach at Truman, to the Women’s Volleyball Committee, replacing Venera Flores-Stafford, associate AD and coach at Midwestern State.

Doug Peters, athletics director at Minnesota State Moorhead, to the Wrestling Committee, replacing Patrick Timm, coach at Northern State.

Jamie Pewinski, head women’s basketball coach at Lake Superior State, to the Women’s Basketball Rules Committee, replacing David Marsh, associate AD at Northwood.

John Bo Pagliasotti, head women’s volleyball coach at Southwestern Oklahoma State, to the Women’s Volleyball Rules Committee, replacing Carlos Chia, coach at Northern Kentucky.
