Bluefield State College President Albert Walker has been elected to join the Division II Presidents Council at the end of the 2010 Convention.

Walker, who has been in the leadership position at Bluefield State since 2002, replaces Region 1 representative Joe Grunenwald, whose term on the Council expires at that time.  Walker also will represent the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference on the Presidents Council. His term lasts through the 2014 Convention.

Before joining Bluefield State, Walker spent five years as the vice chancellor for academic affairs at Elizabeth City State and four as the VP for academic affairs at Kentucky State.

Walker has a bachelor’s degree in education from Lincoln (Missouri), where he ran track. He also holds three master’s degrees in education from Bradley and an Ed.D. from Indiana.
